| We
are a non-profit charity who's primary objective is the rescue of
homeless cats in the Greater Ottawa region. We are a group of volunteers
dedicated to finding permanent homes for unwanted cats and kittens.
Lately,
our rescue outreach has come to include involvement in situations
originating from Riverside South, Osgoode, Kars, Richmond and Kemptville,
thus putting additional strain on our limited resources.
Our
mission is to help alleviate feline pain and suffering and control
the cat population in our community by making sure all cats we help
(tame or feral), are spayed or neutered and have relevant vaccinations.
Our aim is to find people to adopt or foster our felines so they
are well cared for. MCFR rescues cats from outdoor environments
and abusive situations.
We
work closely with foster care providers and potential adopters to find
suitable, permanent homes for these homeless cats. We ensure that
each cat rescued by MCFR is treated for medical needs, including shots, spay/neutering,
and de-worming and given a clean bill of health.
MCFR
does not maintain a specific full-time facility. Our cats stay in
temporary foster homes until a permanent indoor only adoptive home
is found. MCFR is always in need of caring foster homes to provide
food, love and shelter for our homeless felines.
